So I've spent the last couple of hours at the library doing some research on the library's Ancestry.com account. When did ancestry.com start to suck? I expected to be able to easily research some of my dead ends and got nothing! Well, almost nothing! LOL
I did searches on the Bourgeoise side of my tree and came across a marriage record for Maurice and Josephine Bourgeoise. They were my great great grandparents. Since they are originally from Canada, in a place where the Bourgeoise name is prolific, it's been a pain tracking down everything. Seems they were cousins of a sort, I finally got to see the written names of Josephine's parents. Unfortunately, they are illegible...*sigh* Well, not totally. I see that her father's name starts with a M, and that her mother's name is Marie, but I don't see her mother's maiden name. It looks like the record book may have a bit of damage or when they were scanning it, the book didn't lay flat enough. Sucks, wish I could get their names so I can trace them now....
Well, I'm going to get back to my hunting, maybe I'll find something!

Oh My!
I know, it's been too long in posting!
So I've found some interesting items on the Johnson side of the family. Seems Bub's Great-Great Grandfather's name was Murray Ardell Johnson, not Murray Allen like it was first thought. Once Murray's wife Annie passed, their boys went to live with various relations. Two boys, Cecil and Carl, went to live with Annie's folks. Then Floyd lived with Murray's older sister, Rosa, and her 2nd husband. Clyde went to live with cousins of some sort.
Well turns out Murray met someone about a year after Annie's death and married her......then started a new family, in fact one of his daughters was named Annie Marie. He ended up having 5 more kids with one May Parker and living in the same neighborhood that him and Annie once lived in. Very interesting. I'm still trying to trace down Murray's parents names. They are always listed as C and M Johnson. It's starting to drive me crazy, almost.
As for my Grandma Marron's side, I've been tracing the Bourgeois in the Canada area. I've got a couple of generations on there. Still trying to get some info on Josephine's side.
On the McCalmont side (my mother's father's side) I got to get the tree for Lula Donna Oaks, FINALLY! Found lots and lots, I'm so excited! Then I got to see a census record with my grandfather and his parents in 1930, they lived in Los Angeles, California at that point in time.
Seems on Lula's side, they are mainly from North Carolina and Tennessee area.
As for my Vaughter/Wrather side; on the Vaughters, seems that some of them traveled back and forth between north Texas and Tennessee. In fact, some of the Alsups settled in northern Texas and one became a doctor of some sort. Kind of interesting, since I think I've seen the Alsup name popped up once when I was entering prescriptions on a customer. Makes me wonder if it's a distant cousin, hehe.
For the Wrather side, I've found Fruzie's parents, Horace Jefferson Wrather and Marget Lea Comer. It's been hard to find Margret (aka Maggie), but I finally got a break and found them! Maggie was the daughter of one Michal Comer and a gal named Anna. They were both born in Ireland, and it's going to be interesting to try and trace them, since they were born about 1830ish.
In the meantime, I'll leave you all with this while I do more research!
